Elihu Geer incoming correspondence, 1841-1849.

Letters, a bill of lading for printing materials, and a circular letter from the Hartford Grammar School, sent to Elihu Geer, a Hartford, Connecticut, printer and publisher. The earliest letter is a complaint from T.P. Gillett about the increased cost of having the "Puritan & Congregationalist" sent by mail rather than rail. The bill of lading, 1841, is for one box and one bundle of printing materials shipped from Philadelphia by Johnson & Smith. Teacher John D. Post added a personal note about a debt he owed Geer to the circular from Hartford Grammar School. Two letters dated 1846 refer to a man named Larrabee whose parents lived in East Hartford. He evidently was a Whig and hoped the Whigs would pay his way home from New Haven. The last letter is from L. Johnson & Co. about an order for printing plates, such as English script, German text and decorative flowers.

Elihu Geer was a printer and publisher in Hartford, Connecticut. He operated a printing shop and stationery store.
